GSE Research Day Program, 3/14/08
Presentation Formats
Paper Presentations (2 presenters each share 60 minutes for short papers. Presenters who want to allow questions should modify the time accordingly). These sessions provide authors an opportunity to present an abbreviated version of their work.
Poster Sessions (60 minutes): Poster sessions combine graphic display of materials with the opportunity for individualized, informal discussion of the presenter's research. Attendees are welcome to move among the posters to see the breadth of research taking place in the Graduate School of Education.
Roundtable Consultation (60 minutes): Two presenters each share 60 minutes at assigned tables in a large meeting room where other interested persons may gather for a discussion with the presenter about his or her paper or project or may move among a variety of tables. Presenters will talk through an artifact or issue and ask the others at the table to give feedback on any questions or issues they hope to solve.
Group Presentation or Panel: (60 minutes): Presentations are grouped according to a common theme. Formats range from poster to panel to paper presentations. Attendees will see a variety of perspectives on the topic.
Interactive Demonstration Sessions: (60 minutes): Presentations that typically focus on research involving a designed artifact, e.g., a computer simulation, robot, questionnaire, or group activity etc. Attendees are invited to work with the artifact and respond to prompts as a means of sharing an experience that is core to a subsequent explication of the rationale and/or findings of a study.
