
Dean Pearson Named to National Academy of Education

Dean P. David Pearson was elected this year to the
National Academy of Education (NAE), a prestigious group of the top
educators in the U.S. In the letter naming Dean Pearson to the Academy,
Nel Noddings, president of the NAE wrote, “Membership in the Academy
is limited to 150 regular members whose accomplishments in the field
of education are judged outstanding.” Dean Pearson joins Berkeley
professors Andrea diSessa, Judith Warren Little, and Alan Schoenfeld
as a member in the NAE. The National Academy of Education (NAE) was
founded in 1965 to “promote scholarly inquiry and discussion concerning
the ends and means of education, in all its forms, in the United States
and abroad.” )
