Twelve leadership coaches from the Center for Urban School Leadership (CUSL) facilitated year-long professional development for San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) elementary/K–8 and child development center leaders.

In the monthly Equity-Centered Professional Learning Communities, which were self-selected by principals and Child Development Program (CDP) site managers, the groups discussed, shared and observed in each other’s schools, read research and held a "Cafe Conversation" on May 18 to share what they learned with all the Equity-Centered Professional Learning Community (PLC) groups. District leaders can access the group protocols, readings and processes on an SFUSD web portal.

The project was funded by the San Francisco School Alliance and supported through SFUSD's ongoing partnership with UC Berkeley. CUSL provides coaching to first- and second-year SFUSD principals, assistant principals and site managers.
