Professor Marcia Linn was appointed Chair of the National Academy of Sciences committee on Computational Thinking. In May, Linn gave an invited address for the Technology as an Agent of Change for Teaching and Learning group at AERA, as well two talks in Israel: the Chais Distinguished Lecture and an address for the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Education in Technology and Science at the Technion.

Professor Emeritus David Stern continues to advise on UC's changing admission requirements. On Cal Day, he discussed UC's new freshman admission requirements with two other members of Berkeley's admissions-policy planning team in front of a large gathering of parents and visitors in Morgan Hall.

Zeus Leonardo has been promoted from visiting assistant professor to assistant professor... Hanan Alexander, the Richard and Rhoda Goldman Visiting Professor in Education and Israel Studies, was given a second year-long appointment to teach in the School of Education... Zena Mello, a post-doctoral scholar under Frank C. Worrell and a graduate instructor has taken a position as Asssistant Professor of Developmental Psychology at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
