Six Students Earn GSI Awards

Six School of Education Ph.D. candidates earned outstanding Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) awards for 2008–09. The students and their areas are:

Liliana Aguas, Developmental Teacher Education/Cognition and Development;

Diana J. Arya Area, Language and Literacy, Society and Culture;

Thao Duong, Language and Literacy, Society and Culture;

Betina Hsieh, Language and Literacy, Society and Culture;

Nirali Jani, Language and Literacy, Society and Culture;

Kimberly Vinall, Language and Literacy, Society and Culture.

The awardees were invited to attend the campus-wide Outstanding GSI Award Ceremony on May 6 at UC Berkeley's Alumni House. In addition, all recipients of the award are eligible to apply for the Teaching Effectiveness Award.
