GSE Research Day barely skipped a beat in its first year without Spencer Research Training Grant funding as 75 students and faculty shared and showcased their works in progress, with another approximately 100 attending the ninth annual event on April 3.
"It is significant that the first-time sponsorship [of Research Day] by the GSE Student Association (GSEA)
was such a resounding success," Dean David Pearson wrote. "And we should mention the long term mentorship of previous Spencer leaders, Judith Warren Little and Mark Wilson, and the great advice offered by Mary Alice Callahan, who organized Research Day for several years under Spencer auspices."
Pearson and Callahan publicly thanked Jennie Chiu and Kate Frankel for their leadership in organizing the day's activities.
GSE Research Day offers students and faculty an opportunity to present their work to the GSE community in a conference format similar to AERA or other professional conferences, and an opportunity for individuals from across the School to become familiar with each other's research.
