Two EMST Students Win Spencer Fellowships

Kevin McElhaney and Jennifer Chiu, two students working in professor Marcia Linn’s TELS (Technology Enhanced Learning in Science) research group, have won Spencer Dissertation Fellowships for Research Related to Education for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Only 20 of approximately 600 applicants were selected for the Spencer Fellowships, which come with a $25,000 award. McElhaney’s proposal title is "Learning to make valid inferences from experiments: Can dynamic visualizations contribute?” Chiu’s title is “Supporting Students’ Knowledge Integration in Technology-Enhanced Inquiry Curricula.”
