City Centered

photo: Seyer-Ochi and Smith

School of Education Assistant Professor Ingrid Seyer-Ochi and Emeryville Unified School District Superintendent Tony Smith, a GSE graduate, led a discussion on how that East Bay city transformed its schools and city policies by placing education at the heart of redevelopment. The Center for Cities and Schools public forum in November also included Emeryville City Manager John Flores, UC Berkeley professor Robert Ogilvie from the Department of City and Regional Planning and McClymonds High School alumna and current Berkeley student Xenia Simms.
