BEAR Hosts International Objective Measurement
Workshop
The Berkeley Evaluation and
Assessment Research (BEAR) Center will host the 13th International
Objective Measurement Workshop (IOMW) April 5–6 at UC
Berkeley’s International House, and April 7 at the Hotel
Durant. The event is held in conjunction with the American Education
Research Association’s (AERA) annual
meeting April 7–11 at San Francisco’s Moscone
Center.
Researchers who are interested in the
theory and practice of measurement in the human sciences, including
education, psychology, sociology and medicine are invited to attend.
This year’s conference theme, “measurement as a
constructive endeavor,” will offer attendees and presenters an
opportunity to reflect on the centrality of the practice of measuring
within their work in objective measurement, whether in the
construction of instruments or in the development of models and
technologies to support measurement.
The submission deadline closed
January 16. For more information, visit the IOMW 2006
website. For questions or comments, e-mail IOMW.
