Nanette Woodson, Contracts and Grants Coordinator for the Graduate School of Education, has been awarded this year’s Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff Award. The honor goes to staff members who have provided exceptional service and who serve as role models in the workplace, contribute to the campus and community at large, and consistently perform their job at an outstanding level.
“What a pleasure it has been to work with Nanette Woodson over the years,” said GSE Professor Glynda Hull, who nominated Woodson for the award. “She epitomizes efficiency and grace under pressure. Like so many faculty in the GSE, I depend regularly on her judgment, knowledge, good humor and energy. I can not imagine doing a grant without her.”
Woodson was one of 71 staff members — 31 as individuals, 39 as members of six teams — who received one of the awards, which are presented annually by the Chancellor's Staff Advisory Committee. At the Nov. 1 ceremony at International House, Chancellor Robert Birgeneau gave opening and closing remarks and presented each honoree with a wooden bear sculpture, a gold bear pin and a framed certificate. Excerpts from each winner’s nomination letter were read by Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Genaro Padilla and Acting Vice Chancellor for Business and Administrative Services Steve Lustig.
