Two studies by GSE faculty and UC Berkeley doctoral students for Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE) are drawing different conclusons about the mobility of teachers and students in LA Charter Schools.
Professor Bruce Fuller, assistant professor Xiaoxia Newton and doctoral candidate Rosario Rivero worked on the teacher study, "Teacher Stability and Turnover in Los Angeles: The Influence of Teacher and School Characteristics."
Fuller and Luke Dauter, a doctoral candidate in Sociology, worked on the study on charter students, "How Diverse Schools Affect Student Mobility: Charter, Magnet, and Newly Built Campuses in Los Angeles."
The following article about the studies appeared in UC Berkeley News.
