Completing the Minor

Students who complete the requirements for the ISEC Minor will receive an official completion letter in the US mail. In addition, within a couple of months after receiving the letter, a notation will appear at the bottom of your transcript that will state "MINOR PROGRAM IN INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD COMPLETED" with the semester and year. However, to initiate both the letter and the notation, ISEC Minor students must submit the following items to the Minor Advisor. (L&S students will have an additional form to complete - see below):

VERIFICATION OF COMPLETION FORM: During your last semester of completing the requirements of the ISEC Minor, students must submit a Verification of Completion form to the Minor Advisor. See below for the form for the Generalist track. (The Permit track is now closed.) No faxes, please. The Verification form lists the courses completed for the Minor with the grades received. Students do not need to submit a transcript with the verification form.

NOTE TO GRADUATING SENIORS: If you are completing your Minor requirements in the same semester in which you are graduating, it is advisable to submit the Verification of Completion form as soon as you are enrolled in your final courses. You can leave blank the grade(s) for the course(s) you have not yet completed, as they will be verified by the Advisor.

FOR ALL L&S STUDENTS
L&S students completing the ISEC Minor must verify that they have completed at least four courses for the Minor that are not required by their major or second minor.

When L&S students submit the Verification of Completion Form to the Minor adviser, students must also submit a Major/Minor Course Overlap Check form (PDF) . The form is also available on the L&S Forms & Petitions website: http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/fp/fp.html, as Page 2 of theCompletion of L&S Minor packet. Hard copies are available in 1600 Tolman.

Instructions are included with the form. Please note that you will need to obtain the signatures of your L&S major adviser(s) and any other minor advisers on the Overlap Check form(s). If your major and other minors are in very different fields and there is no possibility of overlapping courses, check with each minor adviser about waiving the signature of your major adviser and other minor adviser.
