Institute of Education Sciences Postdoctoral Training Grant in Early Childhood Intervention Research

Berkeley's postdoctoral training fellowship in early childhood intervention research is based in the Graduate School of Education. The program provides recent doctoral recipients with intensive training in early childhood intervention research with a special focus on early mathematical thinking. Fellows participate in ongoing federally funded intervention projects in the Institute of Human Development or the Graduate School of Education, study psychometric properties of research instruments, design intervention research, and receive training in the preparation of grant proposals. Participation in ongoing projects provides opportunities for fellows to interact with early intervention collaborators at other institutions.

Prof. Prentice Starkey is the training director. Ongoing research projects include the Preschool Curriculum Evaluation Research Project, IERI Scale-Up Project, and the NIH School Readiness Project.
