Spencer Institutional Research Training Grant
The School has been awarded an Institutional Research Training Grant by the Spencer Foundation in a competition with a group of the nation's foremost schools of education. The grant, over a five-year period, is aimed at fostering new ways to educate graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees, and the funding will principally be devoted to direct support of students through research fellowships. The grant represents a major increase in the funding available to our doctoral students. A small portion of the grant will support a study of the effects of the grant. The student support will flow through a series of recently founded research centers in the school. Each of these consists of a core group of faculty drawn from across different programs of the school, and is forging its own unique approach to creating research initiatives and to educating graduate students.
The principal investigator is P. David Pearson.
