Andrew Galpern

Andrew Galpern started his career teaching at Jefferson Elementary School and has worked as a classroom teacher; curriculum developer; program evaluator; and educational researcher. His current research interests include: assessment literacy; teacher education; assessment in Science and Math; design and validation studies; simulation design; and the intersection of assessment and technology.

He has collaborated with researchers at Educational Testing Service (ETS); WestEd; the Berkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research Center; Stanford University; Haas School of Business; the Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership; the University of the Pacific; and USAID, as well as consulting for multiple EdTech ventures.

His current research is a design and validation study that explores pre-service and in-service teachers' conceptions of assessment design, validity, and reliability.
