Bayley Marquez has been awarded fellowships in the 2018 Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs

Bayley Marquez, a GSE Ph.D. candidate,  has been awarded fellowships in the 2018 Ford Foundation Fellowship Programs competition administered by the Fellowships Office of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The programs seek to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties by increasing their ethnic and racial diversity, to maximize the educational benefits of diversity, and to increase the number of professors who can and will use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

Her dissertation examines the rhetoric and actions of white reformers during the 19th/early 20th centuries and how they constructed the racialized and gendered narratives of Indigenous and Black Education.
