Policy, Politics, and Leadership

In the broadest of terms, our faculty explore schools as institutions, the history and processes of educational change and reform, the formulation and effects of educational policy, and address the complex problem of how to achieve deep understanding, high performance, and equity in American education. We prepare education professionals for leadership roles in school districts and other organizations committed to the success of students in urban environments. Students will engage in rigorous research to understand the complexity of educational systems, and design practical applications that are effective, and technically and morally sound.
