Social Research Methodologies

Dig into data by applying either qualitative, quantitative and/or computational methods to the problems of research, assessment, and program evaluation in education. Faculty have technical expertise ranging from design-based research to ethnography and interviewing, to measurement, assessment and evaluation, in addition to theory, applied statistics, and the manipulation of large data sets. Faculty train students to build a context for methodological applications that can inform education policy, practice, and curriculum, and to build the analytical skills necessary to investigate empirical questions in technically sophisticated and innovative ways.
