When students enter LEEP, they become part of a cohort of eight to ten students with whom they will take courses, engage in joint projects, and — most importantly — provide and receive support.
Students enroll in two years of content courses, and throughout their time in LEEP they participate in milestone courses, where they receive support and guidance regarding their study. Graduation from LEEP requires successful completion of the coursework, approval of three pre-qualifying papers, an oral examination, a proposal hearing, and a dissertation.
Students can complete LEEP in three and a half years, though the actual time to completion varies based on each student’s circumstances and the nature of his or her study. Our drop-out rate 2/57. We provide robust supports to assist students as they prepare their dissertation studies.
Program has evolved over time and we are consistently learning from our shortcomings (see Research on LEEP).
