TEACHER SPECIAL PROGRAMS (TSP), Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP); Graduate School of Education

The Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks qualified temporary non-tenure track, part-time Instructors, Co-instructors, and Instructional Associates (TSP) to teach in the Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP) for Summer 2017 and in ATDP’s Elementary Division (ED), Secondary Division (SD), or Global Programs (GP). Screening of applicants begins immediately. An applicant will be selected for summer 2017; ED appointments begin in July; SD and GP appointments begin in June.

Teaching Responsibilities:

We are seeking outstanding instructors (TSPs) who can teach courses in ATDP’s Elementary Division, Secondary Division, or Global Programs:

  • Elementary Division (grades K – 6)
  • Secondary Division (grades 7 – 11)
  • Global Programs (grades 7 – 11)

Individuals who qualify to teach Chemistry (ED & SD), Geometry (SD), Introduction to Engineering (SD), Programming in Java/Python (SD & GP), Computer Systems Architecture (GP), Architectural Design (SD & GP), Business & Finance (SD), Japanese (SD), French (SD), Geology (ED), Writing Process (SD), Writing for High School (SD), Jazz Up Your Writing (ED), AP Statistics (SD), and Math for the Real World (ED) are especially encouraged to apply.

General Duties:

In addition to teaching responsibilities, duties include: holding office hours, assigning grades, writing student evaluations, advising students, attending faculty meetings, and preparing course materials. Teachers are also required to attend a Faculty-wide meeting in May 2017; SD instructors must attend the Student/Parent orientation in June 2017.

Basic Qualification:

CA teaching credential or M.A. or equivalent degree in related content area at the time of application.

Additional Qualifications (by start date):

The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and practice experience in the subject matter field and with diverse populations.

Salary:

This is a two or three month appointment. Instructor, Co-instructor, and Instructional Associate salaries are associated with number of units and typically range from $1100 - $3800 per course.
